Filmed on 11 March 2026 at the Smart Green School for Ward 1 (Nara and Amagu Amaofia autonomous communities), a man in a red-and-white cap walks the site under the project billboard. Inside, he points at cracked walls, stained ceilings, unfinished stairwells and stacks of uninstalled window frames.
Enugu State is building 260 Smart Green Schools, one in each ward, as the flagship of its education reform. The state has already admitted the risk: in July 2025 it demolished a smart school at Mbu, Isi-Uzo, after the building failed structural tests, and terminated the contract. This clip asks whether that lesson reached other sites.
What broke, and what would fix it
What broke
A programme of 260 near-identical projects, delivered fast, depends on inspection at scale. One demolition is a good signal but a weak system. Without published contractor lists, independent testing and site-by-site progress reports, quality depends on whoever happens to visit.
Has this school passed a structural test, and who is the contractor?
