Are We OK? Public Record

Method and sourcing

How we know what we know.

This archive does not ask you to trust it. It asks you to check it. Every record names its sources, labels what is proven, and shows what changed after publication.

01 — Sourcing

Nothing enters without a source

Every record links to its primary footage, document or report. Where a source is a person, we say who they are and how they know. Where a source cannot be named, we say that too, and explain why.

Sources are archived at the time of publication, so a record still stands if the original disappears. A record with no surviving source is marked, not quietly kept.

02 — Labelling

Alleged is not the same as proven

Each record carries one status, and it changes only when the underlying facts change. Claims are attributed to whoever made them. An allegation in this archive is never written as a finding.

  • Alleged A claim is on the record but no investigation has confirmed it.
  • Charged Formal charges have been filed.
  • Convicted A court has entered a conviction. Requires a conviction source.
  • Investigated A formal investigation has examined the claim.
  • Unresolved Reported or investigated, but no outcome recorded.
03 — Corrections

Errors are logged in public

Every change to a published record is dated, described and visible on the record itself. Nothing is edited quietly. The full log is public and can be read in one place.

04 — Right of reply

Everyone named gets a chance to answer

A record cannot be published until the people and institutions named in it have been contacted. The dates of those attempts appear on the record. Any response is published in full and unedited.

05 — Independence

Who pays for this

The archive takes no money from political parties, candidates or government agencies. Funding sources are listed here in full. A record is never removed at the request of a subject — only corrected, with the correction visible.
