Record 052 Pensions & Welfare Alleged

Another retired officer speaks

With this third officer, the pattern is clear.

What the record shows

Seated in a plain room, an elderly retired police officer in a dark kaftan addresses the camera for over five minutes about his gratuity and pension, gesturing as he goes through his grievances.

Why it matters

With this third officer, the pattern is clear. Each one recorded his own video, in a different place, with the same complaint. Together they show what the Contributory Pension Scheme means for the people who served under it.

What broke, and what would fix it

What broke

Under the scheme, an officer's retirement income depends on contributions made, or not made, decades earlier, and on how the fund was managed in between. The retiree is the last to find out when either went wrong, and has the least power to fix it.

The question

Were this officer's pension contributions remitted in full throughout his service?
